Description

Hi guys! This is my new original portrait in final artwork (Encantaria series), she’s inspired by the iconic artwork canvas (1937) by Nicholas Roerich, the Mother of the World. I painted it in PTS + PSC5, it took about 4:30 to 5:00 hours to finish.

• The painting "The Mother of the World" has been associated with the Virgin Mary due to the representation of the central maternal figure and the atmosphere of reverence and sanctity in the work. However, the painting has influences from the esoteric tradition of Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, Theosophy and the hermetic traditions.

Madonnas began to proliferate throughout Europe from the 10th and 11th centuries. Many of them, like the Madonna of Le Puy, have mysterious links with the East, possibly through the Crusades. It’s believed that they were an adapted effigy of the Goddesses Celtic and Egyptian. The connection between these figurines and the Gnostic cult of the 11th and 12th centuries was also proven with the “trophies” brought by the Crusades from the Middle East and with the Moorish influence during their rule in Spain. In monasteries containing a Madonna, they were an indication that their members were initiates of more advanced degrees, the equivalent in Initiatory Freemasonry to the degree of Companion.

In these traditions is seen as a symbolic representation of the Divine Mother, the primal feminine energy that permeates the universe and gives rise to all life. She’s viewed as a sacred figure radiating love, compassion, and wisdom, and playing a fundamental role in the balance and harmony of the cosmos. An inspired expression of this divine feminine energy, and is often interpreted as a manifestation of the union between the divine feminine and the divine masculine, symbolizing the unity and integration of all polarities. In summary, "The Mother of the World" is seen in esoteric traditions as a powerful representation of the Divine Mother and her benevolent and transformative influence in the world.
