In his aspect as Melek Ta'us, the Peacock Angel of Middle Eastern myth, he is related to (or in some cases equated with) Lucifer, that light-bearing Prometheus who in modern times has been mistaken for the prince of evil, but which is rightfully the rebellious spark of individuality and divine free will within us all. The Blue God, Melek Ta'us, is said to rule over humanity as the sacred daemon of the world.

The Blue God is known by many names: the Peacock Lord, Dian y Glas, Melek Ta'us, Lemba, Eros, the Christos and Lucifer, to name but a few. He is one of the central Gods in Fairy Magick, but in some myths he is an angel, while in others his origins as a djinn or fairy are subtly revealed. He is the paradox: the highest spirit, but also the most primitive and lowest. He is sexual as much as spiritual and is the personification of beauty and darkness.

The Blue God is that spark of divinity that resides within us all, the spirit hidden within matter. The Blue God sometimes appears as a winged serpent beneath the Goddess's left hand. Here, it is said, he is the fairest and most beneficent of all spirits.
